####018001912#### AGUS74 KWCO 101516 HMDNWC National Hydrologic Discussion - EXPERIMENTAL NWS National Water Center - Tuscaloosa AL 1015 AM CDT SUN MAR 10 2024 .Synopsis... River flooding ongoing and forecast in the Southeast... Rainfall returns to the ArkLaTex and the Southeast later this week... Riverine and coastal flooding in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast... .Discussion... .ArkLaTex and the Southeast... Minor to moderate river flooding is ongoing and forecast across MS, AL, GA, and SC due to recent rainfall, and will likely continue into and through this week for many locations. Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast to return to the ArkLaTex on day 5 (Thu) before spreading into the Southeast on days 6 and 7 (Fri and Sat). Elevated streamflows and wet soils will have some time to recover ahead of this rainfall, and the amounts and locations of the rainfall remain somewhat uncertain due to the extended nature of the forecast. However, the potential for at least isolated flooding impacts is present, though it is too early to outline specific areas. .Mid-Atlantic and Northeast... Moderate to heavy rainfall is moving through western and southern ME this morning and is expected to exit the state later today. This rainfall is not expected to produce widespread significant flooding impacts, but localized flooding impacts, especially in flood-prone and urban areas and along small streams, cannot be ruled out through this evening. Minor river flooding is also ongoing and forecast across the regions due to the combination of rainfall and snowmelt, with crests not occurring on some rivers until day 3 (Tue). Coastal flooding is expected at high tide this morning along the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast coasts with minor or moderate flood stages at coastal tide gages. //Watson $$ ####018005733#### AGUS73 KMSR 101516 HMDMSR Hydrometeorological Forecast Discussion NWS North Central River Forecast Center Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN 1015 AM CDT Sun Mar 10 2024 River forecasts routinely incorporate 24 hours of QPF from April 1 to September 30 and 48 hours from October 1 to March 31.
