Warm temperatures and dry conditions for the north into Monday with ridge of high pressure over B.C and Pac NW and into Nrn CA and Nrn NV. Upper low continues to meander over the south centered around the CA/AZ/NV border and gradually weakens into Monday. This will bring scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to Srn Sierra and into Srn NV and over Srn CA along with near to below normal temperatures over the weekend and into Monday. HREF shows about a 10 percent chance of half an inch an hour over Srn Ca this afternoon. Precipitation amounts will be variable with the convection but generally around a few hundredths to a quarter of an inch will local amounts up to half an inch possible. Freezing levels around 5000- 7000ft over Srn CA and Srn NV today then rise to 7000 to 9000 ft on Sunday and 8000 ft and higher Monday. The pattern starts to shift on Tuesday as a low pressure system approaches the B.C./WA coast and high pressure shifts south over the region and low moves off to the east into AZ. A few showers possible in the Shasta Basin and along the Sierra and over Srn Ca and Srn NV on Tuesday. High pressure weakens and shifts east with a trough/low over the Eastern Pacific off the west coast Thursday. This will bring a chance of precipitation to Srn OR and Nrn CA on Thursday.
