####018002020#### AGUS76 KRSA 141322 HMDRSA Hydrometeorological Discussion National Weather Service / California Nevada RFC / Sacramento CA 620 AM PDT Thu Mar 14 2024 ...SCATTERED SHOWERS MAINLY SOUTHEAST WITH UPPER LOW... .METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (SHORT TERM: THU AM - SUN AM)... The area of low pressure dropping south across the interior of the western US has now made its way to the lower Colorado River basin near the CA/NV/AZ triple point. Slightly upstream of the area across the eastern Pacific an upr ridge has amplified and extends toward western Canada. Through the upcoming weekend...look for the upr low to meander over the lower Colorado River basin while the upr ridge will build across the Pacific Northwest. This will keep the dry north to northeast flow across much of the area. Much of the precip with the low will be downstream over the Four Corners states with only some scattered showers over southern NV...portions of southeast CA...and potentially upslope areas near Death Valley NP and the adjacent southern Sierra as at least some moisture wraps around the primary circulation. Freezing levels in general will range from about 10000- to 11000-feet northwest to 5000- to 6000-feet southeast. .METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (LONG TERM: SUN AM - WED AM)... The weakening upper level low pressure system will continue to linger in the vicinity of the CA, NV, and AZ borders of the Desert Southwest. Chances for isolated shower activity should remain over the southern portions of the forecast region until a building ridge pushes the low eastward by mid-week. Precipitation will generally be light (<0.10 inches) and anchored to the higher terrain. High temperatures across the north could reach up to 15 degrees above normal while the deserts are forecast to remain near to 5 degrees below normal on Monday.
