TRISTAN (30S/40SE, 00E/20W):

           first half of the period.

SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m in the south-west, SW swell, spreading north-wards

           and eastwards towards mid-period.



CAPE WEST (30S/40S, 00E/20E):

WIND     : SW to W 05 to 15 but NW 10 to 20 in the extreme south-west in

           the first half of the period.

VIS      : Good but moderate in showers in places in the south.

SEA STATE: 3.0m in the extreme south-east at first, SW swell.



CAPE EAST (32.5S/40S, 20E/50E):

WIND     : SE 10 to 20 in the extreme east, otherwise NE to N 10 to 20,

           but NW to W 05 to 15 in the extreme west.

VIS      : moderate in showers and rain in places.

SEA STATE: 3.0 to 3.5m in the south, spreading to the north towards mid-

           period whilst reaching 4.0m in places in the south-east, SW

           swell, subsiding from the west in the second half of the

           period.



DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):

WIND     : Cyclonic 15 to 25 in the west at first, otherwise SE to E 10

           to 20 but NE 10 to 20 in the extreme south-west.

VIS      : Good but moderate in showers and rai in places, with

           thundershowers in the central parts at times.

SEA STATE: 3.0m in the south from the second half of the period, S to SW

           swell.



MOZAMBIQUE CHANNEL:

WIND     : SW 10 to 15 in the east central during the first half of the

           period, otherwise S to SE 10 to 15, reaching 25 in the extreme

           south-east and extreme north-east at times.

VIS      : Good but moderate in showers and thundershowers in the extreme

           north.



MADAGASCAR EAST:

WIND     : SE 10 to 20, but E to NE 05 to 15 in the south.

VIS      : Good in the south at first, otherwise moderate in showers and

           thundershowers in places.



MARION FORTIES EAST (40S/50S, 35E/50E):

WIND     : Variable 05 in the north-west in the first half of the period,

           otherwise W to SW 10 to 20 reaching 25 in the south-east. It

           will become NW to N 10 to 15 in the extreme north-west from

           mid-period, spreading south-wards and eastwards.

VIS      : Good, becoming moderate in showers and rain in the south

           towards mid-period.

SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m SW swell, reaching 5.0 to 6.0m in the south-east,

           but 7.0m in the extreme south-east at first, subsiding from

           the west in the second half of the period.

  33S/72E, 38S/80E, 45S/75E, moving rapidly eastward.

- High 1013 hPa stationary and strengthening near 35S/61E.



PART 3: FORECAST FOR 24 HOURS from 23/04/24 at 0600 UTC to 24/04/24 at

        0600UTC:



WAM (30S/40S, 50E/65E):



Occasional showers and thundery squalls over north-eastern zone.

WIND: Anticlockwise 3/4 over northern zone increasing southerly 3 to 5

      over zone then freshening easterly 4 to 6 over northern zone at end

      of term.

SEA : Moderate to rough becoming rough to very rough in south zone, with

      a SW swell of 4 to 5 m.

VIS : Poor to very poor under precipitation.



AMS (30S/40S, 65E/80E):



Rain, frontal showers, with CF then rare showers.

WIND: Northerly 5 to 7 from north to south ahead of CF front, becoming

      clockwise 4/5 behind CF, freshening southerly 3 to 5 over southern

      zone by end of term.

SEA : Moderate to rough.  SW swell 2/3m strengthening 3 to 4m.

VIS : Poor to very poor under precipitation.



CRO (40S/50S, 50E/65E):



Scattered showers. local snow showers in the far southern.

WIND: Westerly 4 to 7 from north to south, easing to Westerly 4 to 6 at

      end of term.

SEA : Rough to very rough becoming very rough to high. SW swell 2/4m,

      soon increasing to 4/7m from south.

VIS : Poor to very poor.



KER (40S/50S, 65E/80E):



Scattered showers. local snow showers in the far south at the end of the period.

WIND: Westerly 4 to 7 from north to south.

SEA : rough to very rough, becoming very rough to high. SW swell 2/4m,

      soon increasing to 4/6m from the south.
