Scattered thunderstorms will develop in south central South Dakota and track northeast late Monday afternoon and evening. While the risk for strong to severe storms lessens as storms reach western and southwestern Minnesota. A few storms could produce 50 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms may form by early afternoon. This activity is not expected to be severe. A second line of stronger thunderstorms may form over south central South Dakota and northern Nebraska by 3pm and begin to track northeast. This activity may reach the James River valley around 5-6 pm and the Interstate 29 corridor by 7pm. While the greatest risk for severe storms may remain south of the Missouri River and Highway 20 in western Iowa, isolated storms may produce wind gusts to 60 mph and some marginally severe quarter size hail as they move northeast early in the evening. Additionally, localized rainfall totals of 1" may lead to minor ponding of water. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will again be possible Wednesday. A few showers may develop by mid-day, but are not expected to become severe. By 2 to 3 pm, a line of scattered stronger thunderstorms may begin to develop along an advancing front in south central South Dakota into central Nebraska. These storms may produce a brief risk for quarter size hail and brief wind gusts to 60 mph. Thunderstorms will move towards the James River by 5-6pm. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will again be possible Wednesday. At this time severe storms are not anticipated. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
