Wind gusts up to 45 mph expected through this afternoon. Some isolated stronger gusts are possible. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms may form by early afternoon. This activity is not expected to be severe. A second line of stronger thunderstorms develops over south central South Dakota and northern Nebraska by 3 pm and tracks northeast. This may reach the James River Valley around 5 pm and the I-29 corridor by 7 pm. While the greatest risk for severe storms remains south of the Missouri River and Highway 20, isolated storms may produce wind gusts to 70 mph and ping-pong ball sized hail as they move northeast early this evening.
