ONSET...Ongoing. DISCUSSION... Gusty southerly winds will continue through the early evening with gusts of up to 40 mph. Winds will then diminish slightly for the overnight hours, but are still expected to gust to 20-25 mph. These winds are blowing with existing dry fuels and low RH. This will continue to promote an elevated fire weather threat, though the relative threat may diminish somewhat as RH increases overnight. The area of greatest concern will be across northeast OK. The potential for thunderstorms will ramp up Monday evening and continue into Tuesday across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas as a Pacific cold front moves through the region. Some of the storms will likely be severe during this time frame with all modes of severe weather possible. Strong southwest winds will return in the wake of the Pacific cold front Tuesday leading to high fire weather potential. The next chance of thunderstorms will occur on Thursday as a cold front moves through the region.
