At 1041 PM HST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over FAD Buoy PP, or 9 nm south of Eleele, moving northeast at 25 knots. This thunderstorm was embedded in a much larger area of heavy rain and other embedded strong thunderstorms in the waters south of Kauai and Niihau. Other strong thunderstorms were 10 to 20 nm north of Kauai. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated.
