Nearshore and Open Waters from St Joseph to Manistee MI... At 932 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Cleveland to 10 nm northeast of Wind Pt. to 9 nm northeast of Aurora, moving northeast at 15 knots. Locations impacted include... South Haven Light, Saugatuck Pier Heads, St. Joseph Light, White Lake Pier Heads, Mona Lake Channel, The White Lake Pierheads, Little Sable Point Light, Grand Haven Light, and Muskegon Light. This line of storms is expected to increase in intensity as it moves toward the Michigan waters of Lake Michigan and the Michigan coast. The line is expected to move over the Michigan waters of Lake Michigan after 10 am, and approach the coast after 11 am. Winds greater than 34 knots will be likely by the time the storms move over the area. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
