line extending from near Purcellville to near Middleburg to The

Plains, moving east at 25 mph.



Torrential rainfall and frequent lightning are occurring with this 

line of storms. Gusty winds of 25 to 35 mph are possible with this 

storm.

Reston, Leesburg, South Riding, Herndon, Broadlands, Lansdowne, Lowes

Island, Brambleton, Poolesville, Dulles International Airport,

storm.

Through 400 pm, scattered showers with isolated embedded stronger

thunderstorms will wax and wane as the approach portions of the

western Straits of Florida 20 to 60 nm south and west of the Lower

Keys. This activity will move to the northwest to north at 10 to 15

knots. Mariners here can expect bouts of heavy downpours reducing

visibility, occasional cloud to surface lightning strikes, and wind

gusts near 25 knots.
