Through 930 PM EST, a line of showers with a couple embedded 

thunderstorms stretched across portions of the Florida Straits, Hawk 

Channel, as well as the Upper Keys and their nearshore waters will 

continue moving northeast to east at 5 to 10 knots. Mariners 

encountering the stronger portions of this activity can expect bouts 

of heavy downpours reducing visibility, wind gusts of 25 to 30 

knots, and occasional to frequent lightning strikes. Island 

communities across the Upper Keys may see up to near a tenth of an 

inch of new rainfall.
