Through 8 PM EST, a line of showers with a couple embedded 

thunderstorms stretched across portions of the Florida Straits, Hawk 

Channel, as well as the Upper Keys and their nearshore waters will 

continue moving north to northeast at 5 to 10 knots. Mariners 

encountering the stronger portions of this activity can expect bouts 

of heavy downpours reducing visibility, wind gusts of near 25 knots,

and occasional lightning strikes. Island communities across the 

Upper Keys may see up to near a quarter of an inch of new rainfall.
