Through 300 am, scattered showers across portions of the Straits of Florida, the Lower Keys between Seven Mile Bridge and Big Pine Key, as well as near Key West, the Middle Keys, and portions of Hawk Channel will continue to wax and wane as they continue moving to the west northwest between 5 to 10 knots. The activity to the south of the Marquesas Keys continues to mainly meander in place. The strongest activity, located over the Straits, is capable of blinding downpours, wind gusts of near 25 knots, and potential lightning strikes. Some island communities of the Lower and Middle Keys can expect to pick up to a tenth of an inch of rainfall with locally higher amounts in excess of a quarter of an inch in the heaviest activity. $$ MJV
