Through 830 am, isolated showers and thunderstorms will wax and wane

over the waters surrounding the Upper and Middle Keys, including the

nearshore waters of the Florida Straits. These showers are moving

east at 5 to 10 knots. Mariners encountering these showers may

experience wind gusts of 20 to 25 knots, reduced visibility in

moderate to heavy downpours, and occasional lightning strikes. 

Island communities may observe a hundredth to a tenth of an inch of 

rainfall.
