Marine Weather HF Voice Broadcast for the Gulf of America



Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average

height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be

more than twice the significant wave height.



.SYNOPSIS...A stationary front extending from the northern Gulf 

coast to the Yucatan Peninsula will meander eastward through 

early next week. Showers and thunderstorms are expected near and 

to the east of the front, leading to strong and erratic winds and

rapidly building seas near convection. Fresh to strong NW winds 

and rough seas will diminish offshore of Veracruz this evening. 

Pulsing fresh N winds will occur behind the cold front across the

western Gulf into early Sun. Farther east, pulsing fresh to 

strong S to SE winds are expected east of the front through Sun 

as the pressure gradient increases with building high pressure in

the western Atlantic. Looking ahead, the front is slated to exit

the basin early next week, allowing high pressure to build in 

the Gulf of America.

.SYNOPSIS...Low pressure over the Gulf of Maine will continue

lifting NE tonight while pulling a low pressure trough across the

area. Another cold front will approach from the NW late tonight,

then move SE across the waters Sun. High pressure will build SE

across the waters later Sun into Mon, then shift SE Mon night. A

cold front will pass quickly SE across the waters later Mon night

into early Tue. Another high will build SE across the waters

later Tue and Tue night, then gradually shift SE of the area Wed

and Wed night. A weak, broad low pressure will develop SW of the

area Tue into Wed across the Mid-Atlantic, with the associated

warm front lifting N into the southern portions Wed and Wed

night. The low pressure will lift NE across the waters Thu then

exit E of the area by later Thu night.

.SYNOPSIS...Departing low pressure N of the area will continue

lifting NE while pulling a low pressure trough across the N

portions tonight. A stationary front across the S waters will

remain stalled through Mon, with high pressure continuing to

build offshore N of the front tonight. The high will shift E and

SE later Mon and Mon night, with the stationary front then

beginning to lift back to the N as a warm front by Mon night. The

warm front will continue N across the southern and central

portions Tue and Tue night, with an associated low pressure

moving N and inland across the Carolinas. A cold front extending

S from the low will move offshore S of Cape Hatteras late Tue

night, then farther E into the waters Wed before weakening Wed

night. The low will move offshore Thu before exiting N and E of

the area later Thu into Thu night.
