The subtropical high will remain in place to the north of the

state through the week then shift to the northeast this weekend,

and northeasterly to easterly trade winds will persist. This

pattern will favor precipitation chances each day for windward

locations, and conditions will remain mainly dry for southwestern

portions of the Islands. A low pressure system is forecast to

develop to the northwest over the weekend and bring a trailing

front towards the northernmost islands next week, but the front

will likely be blocked by the subtropical ridge and remain

northwest of the state.
