During the early morning hours of Thursday April 18th 2024, multiple rounds of thunderstorms moved through western and central and Missouri. One line of thunderstorms produced notable wind damage north of Lawson, MO. A damage survey was conducted north of Lawson on Friday April 19th 2024 to assess what type of event resulted in the damage primarily to out buildings and trees, with minor damage to residential roofs. After the survey was completed, preliminary results conclude that strong downburst winds of at least 90 MPH at points occurred. This is also supported by radar signatures from the terminal Doppler radar at Kansas City International Airport (TMCI). Preliminary analysis does not find sufficient evidence in the damage points and path that would support the occurrence of a tornado. Updates can made to this preliminary analysis if more reports of damage come in from this event. .Lawson, Missouri Downburst Winds and Straight Line Winds...
