Wind gusts near 60 MPH and hail near the size of quarters would be the main hazards. Low temperatures tonight are expected to drop into the upper 30s to mid 40s. Winds to start out the night will be southeasterly around 15 MPH...but a passing cold front will switch winds to the north...with speeds closer to 20 to 30 MPH. A few lingering showers will be possible across eastern areas to start the day on Thursday...but precipitation should end by mid morning...leaving the rest of the day dry. Cloud cover should diminish with time...and cooler highs are expected...reaching the mid 50s to near 60. Winds remain northerly for Thursday...with speeds around 20 to 25 MPH. Next chances for rain showers will start working into the area from the west Friday evening through Saturday morning...but at least some light snow mixing in cannot be totally ruled out...especially for western areas. Highs on Friday look to be in the low to mid 50s...with upper 40s to mid 50s for Saturday. Low temperatures Friday night and again Saturday night are expected to drop to near or below freezing for roughly the northern half of the area. $$
