Moderate to locally heavy snow of 6 to locally 12 inches is forecast to fall on the northern periphery of this system from the upper Great Lakes to northern New England. However, warm air surging up the East Coast will lead to a changeover to rain across much of interior New England on Wednesday. In addition, strong winds and heavy rain are expected from the Mid-Atlantic to Northeast, with a slight to moderate risk of excessive rainfall located across East Coast through tonight and coastal Maine on Wednesday. Widespread and potentially significant river and flash flooding are likely in these regions. The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction Center at 900 AM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather Service office for additional information on this event. Snell $$
