bring the risks of flash flooding to the Gulf Coast into the

Southeast...



Flash Flood Watches have been issued in Southeast Texas, Lousiana,

Southeast Arkansas, Mississipppi,southern Tennessee, and northern

parts of Alabama and Georgia



Flash Flood Warnings are in effect for portions of Southeast

Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi



Flood warnings have been issued for various streams in rivers near

the western Gulf Coast, so stay tuned with your local NWS office

for conditions in your area

At 900 AM EST...Multiple waves of moderate to heavy rainfall are

ongoing over Texas, Louisaina, Arkansas, and Mississippi this

morning as boundaries caused by previous rounds of thunderstorms

move very slowly ahead of a cold front.

Waves of low pressure will develop along a cold front slowly

progressing eastward across the South, bringing the threats of

heavy rainfall and flash flooding. Areas of locally heavy rainfall

may also be seen in areas of thunderstroms training over the same

region. Heavy rainfall may continue through parts of Saturday in

the Southeast as the storm is in hurry to leave the region. 

Rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches, with local amounts of 10

inches, are possible across sections of the Gulf Coast through

Friday.
