The low pressure will continue trackng northeast towards the Mid-Atlantic region on Sunday. This will finally pull the stationary frontal boundary to the east over the weekend, bringing an end to this prolonged period of heavy rainfall. Scattered instances of flash flooding will be possible in the Lower Mississippi Valley and in southern and central Appalachians through today. Any additional rainfall will also exacerbate ongoing river flooding through the weekend. The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction Center at 900 PM CST.
