GREENWOOD 3.22 Into Tuesday morning, a low pressure center is expected to rapidly develop off the Mid-Atlantic coastline, moving south of Long Island. A tight gradient in heavy rain to snow is expected northwest of this low through the densely populated Northeast urban corridor, with uncertainty remaining in the rain-snow line. The combination of heavy wet snow and powerful winds tied to this rapidly strengthening system could lead to tree/powerline damage and widespread travel impacts across the Northeast. Moreover, moderate coastal flooding is expected along the Mid-Atlantic oceanic coast and further north along the New England coastline. The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction Center at 1000 AM EST. Please refer to your local National Weather Service office for additional information on this event. Asherman $$
