In its wake, chilly subfreezing temperatures were observed this morning across much of the Intermountain West, with frigid sub-zero temperatures noted over the Northern Plains beneath an Arctic airmass sliding down the lee of the Rockies. National Weather Service Doppler radar and surface observations detected scattered moderate to heavy snowfall ongoing over portions of the Northern and Central Rockies, and the Northern Plains.
