An occluded boundary extended southeast from the low to a triple point in southern California. From the triple point a cold front stretched southwestward through the Los Angeles and San Diego Metro areas into the Pacific, while a warm front extended to the southeast across southern California and Nevada. Latest RADAR and surface observations depicted moisture continuing to stream onshore ahead of and along the cold front, with numerous reports of heavy precipitation across southern California. Heavy snowfall remained confined to higher elevations of above 5000 ft throughout the Transverse and southern Sierra Nevada ranges, with snow levels expected to drop this morning in the wake of the cold front passage, while lower elevations along an axis stretching from San Diego northward through the Los Angeles Metro area continued to experience moderate to heavy rainfall.
