The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Kauai Channel...

  Kauai Leeward Waters...



* Until 745 PM HST.



* At 543 PM HST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located 29 nm southwest of FAD Buoy PP, or 35 nm

  south of Kaumakani, moving northeast at 15 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  FAD Buoy CK.
