* Special Marine Warning for...

  Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point MD to Smith Point VA...

  Chesapeake Bay from North Beach to Drum Point MD...

  Patuxent River to Broomes Island MD...

  Tangier Sound and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth

  Island...



* Until 630 PM EDT.



* At 458 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line

  extending from Solomons Island to near Town Creek to Breton Bay,

  moving southeast at 40 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots and large hail.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly 

           higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could 

           suffer significant damage in high winds and hail.



* Locations impacted include...

  Hooper Island Light, Smith Island, Deep Hole, Solomons Island,

  Southwest Middle Grounds, Cuckold Creek, Ewell, Town Creek, Tangier

  Sound, Drum Point, Point No Point, The Targets, Richland Point

  Buoy, Deal Island, and Crisfield.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.

Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots, large hail, high waves, dangerous

lightning, and heavy rain are possible with these storms.
