The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Coastal waters from Cameron LA to High Island TX out 20 NM...



* Until 630 AM CDT.



* At 536 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located 9 nm northeast of Rollover Pass, or 12 nm

  north of High Island 63, moving southeast at 25 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, and small 

           hail.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  High Island 22, High Island 52, and Port Arthur.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.



Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the

open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded

metal objects.
