The National Weather Service in League City has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Coastal waters from High Island to Freeport TX out 20 NM...

  Galveston Bay...



* Until 630 AM CDT.



* At 556 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located over Galveston Bay Entrance, moving east at

  25 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small 

           hail.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Galveston 150, Galveston Bay Entrance, North Jetty, and Galveston

  Ship Channel.

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
