The National Weather Service in OXNARD has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Much of the coastal waters from just northwest of Point

  Arguello to San Mateo Point and offshore including the

  Channel Islands...



* Until 545 AM PDT.



* At 338 AM PDT, numerous heavy convective showers and scattered

  thunderstorms continued across much of the coastal waters

  from just northwest of Point Arguello to San Mateo Point and

  well off the coast. Individual storms were generally moving to

  the north at 15 knots.



  HAZARD...Enhance threat of waterspouts, wind gusts to  

           nearly 50 knots, and large hail.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats. Small craft could

           be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher

           waves. Large hail could result in structural damage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts, which can easily 

overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Move to 

safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
