...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM CDT

FOR SOUTHEASTERN MACOUPIN COUNTY...



At 616 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line

extending from near Girard to near Litchfield to Staunton, moving

east at 40 mph.



HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to 

         roofs, siding, and trees.



Locations impacted include...

Staunton, Gillespie, Mount Olive, Bunker Hill, Benld, Wilsonville,

Sawyerville, Mount Clare, East Gillespie, Eagarville, White City,

Dorchester, Hornsby, and Pruett.



This includes Interstate 55 in Illinois between exits 41 and 44.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly

from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the

basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
