GALE WARNING FOR NORTHERN AREA SITUATION At 0600 UTC a Tropical Low was centred within 20 nautical miles of latitude fourteen decimal nine south (14.9S) longitude one hundred and thirty seven decimal seven east (137.7E) Recent movement : east southeast at 3 knots Maximum winds : 30 knots Central pressure: 997 hPa Gales are expected to develop in the eastern quadrants of the low in the next 06 to 18 hours. AREA AFFECTED Within 80 nautical miles of the centre FORECAST Maximum winds to 30 knots near the centre increasing to 40 knots by 0600 UTC 16 February. Winds above 34 knots within 80 nautical miles of the centre in the NE quadrant by 1200 UTC 15 February and within 70 nautical miles in SE quadrant by 0000 UTC 16 February with rough to very rough seas and moderate swell.
