SITUATION At 1800 UTC a Tropical Low was centred within 25 nautical miles of latitude seventeen decimal six south (17.6S) longitude one hundred and sixteen decimal seven east (116.7E) Recent movement : west southwest at 13 knots Maximum winds : 25 knots Central pressure: 998 hPa The low is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 6 hours. AREA AFFECTED Within 80 nautical miles of the centre. FORECAST Maximum winds to 25 knots near the centre increasing to 50 knots by 1800 UTC 23 February. By 0600 UTC 23 February, winds above 34 knots within 30 nautical miles in NE quadrant and within 60 nautical miles in SE quadrant and within 40 nautical miles in SW quadrant and within 30 nautical miles in NW quadrant with rough to very rough seas and moderate swell. By 1800 UTC 23 February, winds above 34 knots within 60 nautical miles in NE quadrant and within 80 nautical miles in SE quadrant and within 70 nautical miles in SW quadrant and within 50 nautical miles in NW quadrant with rough to very rough seas and moderate swell.
