Tropical Weather Discussion for the Western North Pacific between

the Equator and 25N from 130E to 180. The following information is

based on recent satellite imagery/data, weather observations, radar,

and meteorological analysis.

...OTHER WEATHER SYSTEMS...



TRADE-WIND TROUGHS...

A modest trough is seen south of Guam, extending northward from to 

4N147E to 10N144E. This trough is enhancing convection along a band

of trade convergence, discussed below. A couple of weak troughs are

seen east of 155E. The first is near Kosrae. Little activity is 

associated with this trough. Another trough is seen east of Majuro. 

A bit of enhanced convection is associated with this trough.



OTHER SYSTEMS...

A band of weak trade-wind convergence stretches from 3N130E to the 

Date Line near 7N. Scattered to numerous showers and isolated

thunderstorms are seen west of 155E, with scattered showers seen 

east of 155E.



...DISCUSSION...

Little change is expected over the next several days. The trade-wind

troughs will move through the region, interacting with the weakening

convergence. Scattered showers are expected across the region for the

next few days.
