The following information is based on recent satellite imagery/data, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. ...SPECIAL FEATURES... None. ...OTHER WEATHER SYSTEMS... TRADE-WIND TROUGHS... A series of trade-wind troughs and surges in trade winds extend across the region. A modest trade-wind surge and weak surface trough is generating patchy showers just east of the Marianas. A couple of troughs are found south of Chuuk and Kosrae, this, combined with a surge of moderate to fresh trade winds are generating widespread clouds and moderate convection across central and eastern Micronesia, near and south of 7N. OTHER SYSTEMS... A trade-wind disturbance is roughly centered near 4N134E, accompanied with moderate to strong trade-wind convergence in its wake. This is generating scattered to numerous showers and a few thunderstorms south of Palau and Yap Proper, extending into eastern Yap State, as far east as Ifalik and Faraulep. ...DISCUSSION... The trade troughs will continue to push west across Micronesia. Trade-convergence following the disturbance in western Micronesia strengthens over the next few days, before fragmenting again by the weekend. The disturbance itself is expected to wander south and south west of Palau over the next few days, fluctuating in intensity as well. $$ IC
