...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM SATURDAY TO 8 AM PDT

SUNDAY ABOVE 5000 FEET...



* WHAT...Heavy snow expected above 5000 feet. Total snow

  accumulations of 5 to 10 inches above 5,000 feet, 12 to 18

  inches above 7,000 feet and 1 to 2 feet of snow above 9,000

  feet. Winds gusting as high as 75 mph on exposed 

  ridgetops and along the crest.



* WHERE...Kings River north to Yosemite NP, excluding the Yosemite

  Valley.



* WHEN...From 11 AM Saturday to 8 AM PDT Sunday.



* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Very

  strong winds could cause extensive tree damage. The cold wind

  chills as low as 20 below zero could result in hypothermia if

  precautions are not taken.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in

your vehicle in case of an emergency.
