This ridge builds to 30.0 inches overnight and will remain over Lake Superior until Wednesday night. Meanwhile, a 29.7 inch trough emerging over the Northern Plains on Tuesday weakens to 29.8 inches as it shifts to the Upper Mississippi Valley during Wednesday night and Thursday. The trough deepens to 29.7 inches over Lake Superior Thursday night and remains through Friday. As the trough arrives in James Bay midday Saturday, weak ridging of 29.8 inches will be over the lake as another low pressure transits through the Northern Plains.
