Showers and thunderstorms are starting to develop over the San
Gabriel Mountains late this morning. With the steering winds
moving from east to west, any shower and thunderstorm activity
will drift toward the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys. The
strongest storms were about 5 miles east of San Fernando and
moving west at 25 mph. Showers are likely this afternoon with
isolated thunderstorm possible. Brief heavy rainfall, small hail,
dangerous lightning, and gusty and erratic winds are possible. 
Persons outdoors should move indoors or seek safety in a vehicle 
when these storms approach.
