Through 530 am, areas of moderate to heavy showers and embedded
thunderstorms will continue moving quickly northeast at around 30
mph over portions of Hidalgo, Brooks, Kenedy, Willacy and western
Cameron Counties. The heaviest rainfall looked to be affecting
Hidalgo, Willacy and northwestern Cameron Counties. Lightning and
brief periods of locally heavy rainfall are possible in these
areas through 5 am.
