...Water levels are running high along the Upper Arkansas River at 
Leadville...Salida...Wellsville...Parkdale...Canon City...Portland...
Lower Arkansas River at Pueblo...Avondale...Nepesta...Fowler...Rocky 
Ford...La Junta...Lamar...

Warm weather across the high country will continue to increase the
snow melt across the mountains...leading to fast river flows.

River levels are expected to remain within banks...but the high flows
will still be dangerous. Those participating in activities near the 
water are advised to use extreme caution. Strong currents could 
quickly become a safety hazard.

High flows are not uncommon this time of year...but they still pose a
serious threat to persons in or near the water. Each year...high 
flows result in mishaps that are sometimes fatal. 

Stay away from the banks of rivers and streams. During high water...
saturated banks can easily break off and fall into potentially 
deadly...fast flowing water.
