Recent heavy rainfall and snowmelt runoff continue to cause high water flow in the Arkansas River in the upper Arkansas River Valley and portions of the lower Arkansas River Valley. The Arkansas River at La Junta is forecast to come close to flood stage Wednesday afternoon, but is still expected to remain in action stage. River levels are expected to remain within banks...but the high flows will still be dangerous. Those participating in activities near the water are advised to use extreme caution.
