A very rainy weather pattern is setting up for Southeast Idaho beginning Thursday afternoon and continuing through Monday of next week. Much of the rain showers will be focused in two events. The first event Thursday night through Friday will bring up to an inch of rain in the central mountains between Sun Valley and Challis with lesser amounts elsewhere in Southeast Idaho. The second event late Saturday night through Monday will bring more widespread rain showers with up to an additional inch and a half of rain in the mountains across all of Southeast Idaho. Folks out and about in the back country should be prepared for difficult off-road driving conditions and slippery footing on steep terrain. Flooding is not expected at this time, but rivers and streams will see increased flows. Colder water temperatures of fall and early winter combined with slippery ground will be hazardous for children and pets. $$ For current weather and hydrologic information please visit... www.weather.gov/pocatello
