Most streams and creeks along with the majority of main stem rivers have already crested. However, the Neuse River is still rising at Smithfield and Goldsboro and the Tar River is rising at Tarboro. A flood warning remains in effect for the Neuse River at Smithfield which is now expected to climb to just to or slightly over flood stage on Wednesday morning.
