After a period of well above average warmth this past weekend a tandem of weather systems moved through the Cowboy State. The first system brought lower elevation rain/thunderstorms, with very little mountain snow. The second system had a strong cold front associated with it, which dropped temperatures considerably on Wednesday. The temperatures behind the front were cold enough for snow, but accumulations were constrained to grassy areas/elevated surfaces at most locations due to the warm ground from the warmth this past weekend. The Bighorn Mountains were the winners of this event when it comes to snowfall as amounts ranged from around a foot to a foot and a half.
