...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1993, heavy rainfall over the period of a week produced widespread
flooding across Sherman, Thomas, Sheridan and Graham counties. Many
rivers and creeks across northwest Kansas rose to their highest stages in
years, while flooding of lowlands and fields were common in many counties.
Several roads, especially in rural areas, were under water for days before
becoming passable once again.
