Today: 

A line of storms swept across the area overnight and into the early
morning hours. This resulted in gusty winds and heavy rain for some
with rain totals of 1 to 2 inches reported in most areas. Behind the
line of storms temperatures cooled into the mid to upper 50s with
winds shifting back to out of the southwest. 

Lingering showers and storms in eastern Iowa this morning will shift
east with decreasing cloud cover through midday. Temperatures will top
out in the low to mid 70s across the area. By this afternoon a few
showers and thunderstorms may develop, mainly across part of northern
Iowa. 

Tonight and beyond: 

Showers may linger overnight tonight into Wednesday morning. The 
pattern remain unsettled through the rest of the week with chances for
showers and thunderstorms each day. A few stronger storms are 
possible on Wednesday however the overall severe threat remains low. 
Temperatures cool on Thursday with highs in the low 60s, however will 
rebound back to the low 70s Friday into the weekend.
