At the Chocolay River gage on M-28...this morning the river was at a stage of 8.3 feet. The river is expected to slowly fall to a stage near 8.1 feet on Friday morning. Additional rainfall amounts this weekend of 1.5 to 2.0 inches over the Basin are expected to cause the river to rise to a stage near 9.0 feet on Friday afternoon. Flood stage is 10.0 feet. High waves on Lake Superior at the rivers mouth coupled with higher than normal lake levels may cause additional rises on the river.
