An area of low pressure over Middleton Island this morning will move into Prince William Sound before weakening and moving inland. Light rain developing this morning will become steadier as the low moves toward the sound. Southeasterly winds will also increase as the low approaches, with gusts 20 to 25 mph possible by early to mid afternoon. Winds will become more southerly overnight into early Thursday and weaken as the low moves inland. The steady rain is likely to transition to showers by late Thursday morning. Gusty southerly winds and more steadier rain then returns late Thursday into early Friday as another storm system moves into the Northern Gulf and across Prince William Sound. Again, steadier rain is expected to transition to isolated to scattered showers with light and variable winds for Friday afternoon. Looking into the weekend, a frontal system is expected to move from the western Gulf of Alaska toward the Kenai Peninsula for Saturday.
