West/southwest winds will continue to gust up to 30-45 mph this afternoon, strongest along and west of the James River. There could be a sprinkle to an isolated shower beneath the cloud deck this afternoon but rainfall amounts will be minimal. With highs in the 60s to just about 70 and dew points in the 40s, relative humidity will fall to 30-60%. The higher humidity and green fuels will keep fire danger low this afternoon despite the strong winds. Additional showers and storms are expected tomorrow afternoon. These storms look to be mainly east of I-29 and could bring another round of meaningful rainfall. High temperatures will be a touch cooler in the 60s with dew points remaining in the 40s, yielding humidity values down to around 40%. Winds will be much lighter and variable throughout the day. The conditions will promote low fire danger across the area.
