FNUS76 KPQR 201600 FWSPQR Spot Forecast for THOMPSON...WA DNR National Weather Service Portland OR 900 AM PDT Sat Apr 20 2024 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0900 PDT on April 20. If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...A weak cooler front will move over the area today causing winds to shift to the south through the afternoon. The wind shift will occur between 1300 to 1500, then become westerly after 1900. Wind speeds are near their peak at 900 ft in elevation, but will exceed 20 mph through 1800 until they shift to the west. This directional shift combined with upslope diurnal winds will cause winds to locally increase up to 28 mph (reflected in the below forecast). Due to the incoming onshore flow, daytime minimum humidity will be higher than previous days and temperatures will be cooler with incoming cloud cover. Precipitation is likely (50% chance), however accumulation will be minimal at best thus the low CWR. The front will slowly exit the area around Sunday morning though lingering very light precipitation may persist. Diurnally driven winds will once again occur in the afternoon though less intensely due to more cloud cover. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Mostly sunny then becoming mostly cloudy after 1100.
