Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Weak low pressure around 29.7 inches will continue to fill in Hudson Bay, with low pressure around 29.7 inches also developing in eastern Ohio. This low will progress into eastern Pennsylvania and deepen to 29.4 inches into Wednesday morning. As this low deepens, Arctic high pressure of 30.6 inches will also build in from the northern Plains on Wednesday, producing increasing northwesterly winds Wednesday and Wednesday night. These winds will be strongest in the south half Wednesday afternoon and spread northward through the overnight hours. A Gale Warning is in effect across the entire open waters from Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. Heavy freezing spray is also expected to develop during the peak of the gales, with rates up to 2 cm per hour or greater, across the southern two-thirds of the lake Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Moderate freezing spray is still expected across the northern third. Widespread lake effect snow showers are also expected. High pressure around 30.6 inches will then settle over the Upper Midwest Thursday into Friday, leading to light westerly winds.
